Live the Good Way © Please Do No Harm

No one is perfect. I certainly am not perfect, but I try my best to do no harm. It isn't easy at times, but we all must try our best to not harm any living being. This includes ourselves. I have to admit this is easier when we don't have other people around us, especially those that live backward lives. Unless we become a hermit, we have to deal with other people. Even hermits have to deal with animals and insects, so they aren't entirely free either. We can harm others in a variety of ways, not just with violence. The golden rule applies here, treat others the way you want to be treated. You don't want to be made fun of, or hurt emotionally in anyway, so refrain from doing that to others. You don't want to be physically hurt, so don't lash out at anyone else, including animals and insects. You don't want your valuables to be stolen, so don't steal anything. You don't want to be lied to, so tell the truth. It really is that simple, and yet can

Thought Bubble - Guided Alternate Breathing Meditation - Good for Beginners

For this breathing meditation we will not be following the breath on it's journey into and out of our bodies, but we will be concentrating on our abdomen. If we are breathing properly our abdomen will expand when we inhale and deflate when we exhale. If you find that your shoulders are rising and falling with your breath then you are breathing too shallow and this may be from too much stress. You need to try to breath more deeply and purposefully into your abdomen. Remember, if you catch your mind wandering during the meditation you are not failing, but actually succeeding because you are become more aware of your mind and beginning to gain control over it. This meditation will include a relaxation technique, a healing technique, the virtuous motivation or intention, the meditation itself, the virtuous dedication to keep our good karma safe and then the return process. So, let's get started. We need to get into our meditation posture. Sitting in a chair, we place

Spirit Conversations - Story From Chief Frank Fools Crow

This story was given to me by one of my spirit helpers who calls himself Chief Frank Fools Crow: The Wolf and The Moon To the south is a pine forest with a clearing in front of it. On the opposite side of the forest is a small cliff with an incline towards the west. Night after night a grey wolf runs through the clearing, chasing the moon trying to catch it. He runs back and forth following the moon, jumping and biting at the moon. A bear sits on the edge of the cliff watching the wolf. One night the bear runs after the wolf and beckons him to come and sit beside him on the cliff. “Watch the moon from here to see its pattern. You cannot catch the moon if you watch it, you will see it is out of reach.”, Bear tells the wolf. They sat night after night watching the moon. The bear was hopeful that the wolf would understand. After many nights sitting there, the wolf ran off. “Where are you going?”, asked the bear. “I have seen where the moon comes down. I am going to

Live The Good Way © Overcoming Negative Habits

Hopefully, you are making positive changes to your life and working towards becoming the best version of you. If you are anything like me, you will probably run into difficulties. You might be struggling to stop engaging in negative behaviours, whether that is lying, stealing, or harming others in other ways. They become habits and we can do these things without even being aware we are doing them. We can mindlessly punch our friend in the arm as a joke or when they upset us. We may be so familiar with lying that we have trouble even knowing what is true anymore. We could suffer from being a kleptomaniac or some other problem. The more we do negative things, the more often we automatically do them with no thought behind them really. The problem is that we have undisciplined minds and we usually do what our mind or ego tells us to do rather than trying to control our impulses. Trying to stop doing these things when it is almost our nature to do them can be tricky and overwhelming a

Thought Bubble - Guided Breathing Meditation - Good for Beginners

Thank you for choosing to learn to meditate in the correct way and thank you for wanting to make spiritual progress. The reason we want to meditate is to discipline our mind and gain better control over it, so that we may explore it fully. It is the only way we can truly make spiritual progress. The way to tell if your meditation is successful is whenever you catch your mind wandering. The fact that you suddenly realize your mind has wandered shows that you are gaining control and succeeding. I will guide you through all the steps to have a successful meditation from how to sit right through to how to return gently to most benefit your mind. This photo shows how to put place your hands during the meditation.   Hand position or mudra for meditating For this breathing meditation we will not be following the breath on it's journey into and out of our bodies, but we will be concentrating on the rim of our nostrils or our upper lip if you are unable to breath through your nos

Live The Good Way © How to Start Ascending

Thank you for choosing to work on your spiritual path in an upward manner. The place to begin is to work on becoming a kinder person. By showing kindness to others, we are showing them that we care about them. We begin to show that we have empathy and compassion for them. In a way, we are showing that we love and value them. This can be difficult if you are not familiar with behaving this way at all or if you are in a situation that others will take advantage of you, use you or abuse you. We need to remember that anyone that causes you or others harm does not know the damage they are causing themselves. They are acting out of ignorance. They simply do not know what they are doing. They do not know the consequences they will have to face in the future or they wouldn't behave that way. We can try to show these people kindness, but if they continue to harm us we need to separate ourselves from them. After all, we are not being kind to them if we allow them to harm us, because we

Thought Bubble - You Need to Meditate for Spiritual Advancement

If you truly wish to make spiritual progress, then you need to meditate in the right way. If you do not meditate, then you will not advance enough to make any significant changes. Anyone that refuses to meditate has negative karma ripening and is limiting themselves from attaining real freedom. If anyone claims to be a spiritual teacher, yet refuses to meditate, then they are someone you should stay clear of, because they will be limited in what they can teach you or they might not know what they are doing. We live in degenerate times, so many meditations are useless and some of them are even harmful. The idea that you need to make your mind completely blank with no thoughts whatsoever, is harmful. If you do this meditation you are creating the future result that you will have trouble being able to think, which will cause you problems. If you learn to meditate the correct way, which is to learn to focus your mind and concentrate on virtue, then you can make real spiritual progress.

Thought Bubble - The Meaning of the Prayers

I have been asked to explain the meaning of the prayers that I say at the beginning of my regular podcasts. I and all sentient beings, until we achieve enlightenment, go for refuge to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. I and all sentient beings means I am praying to benefit absolutely every living being in existence, including myself. Until we achieve enlightenment, so until each and every one of us becomes a fully enlightened Buddha, which is our ultimate goal in this life and every life we live. Go for refuge to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha is that we seek shelter and help from all the Buddhas, including our own Buddha nature, from Dharma which is the teachings of Buddha and Sangha who is the community of people that are striving to become Buddhas and are following the teaching of Buddha to be able to do just that. The Sangha can be nuns, monks or lay people. This prayer is said three times because it is so important for us to make our mind familiar with it. The next prayer: Thr

Live the Good Way © Episode 5 Who Will Save You?

Who will save you? Will a Saviour arrive and free everyone from suffering and grant eternal life? Will you be visited by aliens that will take you to their planet? Are you hoping someone will enter your life, take away all your problems and bring you lasting happiness? The answer may surprise you to learn, but that saviour you are seeking is you. You will save you. You are the only one that can. You might not believe it, but that is the reality of the situation. Sure there are people and holy beings that are working to help you achieve this, but it is ultimately your choices and your own actions that will save you. There are people that will help teach what you need to know, but you have to experience this for yourself. I can tell you and show you what I have experienced, to try to help you gain understanding, but until you experience it first hand, you will not know that what I share is true. If there is anyone out there telling you that they alone will save you, that they wil

Live The Good Way © Episode 4 Your Purpose in Life

Why are you alive? What are you doing here? What is your purpose? These are all questions we have asked ourselves from time to time. Some of us have taken the time to search until we found satisfactory answers. Some of us just followed what others were doing because they seemed to know, without truly discovering it for ourselves. Some of us just shrugged our shoulders and carried on with life without knowing or bothering to find out anything. Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance actually creates a great deal of harm. You won't find a complete and total explanation for your life in this one podcast. Things are far more complicated, vast and deep than you may realize and it takes time to discover all of it. I will make other podcasts to share the knowledge I have gained. I haven't even discovered everything for myself yet, but I hope I am on my way to finding out. What is the short answer? Well, you are here to make progress on your spiritual path. We all are. Whether you ar
