Spirit Conversations - Story From Chief Frank Fools Crow

 

This story was given to me by one of my spirit helpers who calls himself Chief Frank Fools Crow:

The Wolf and The Moon

To the south is a pine forest with a clearing in front of it. On the opposite side of the forest is a small cliff with an incline towards the west. Night after night a grey wolf runs through the clearing, chasing the moon trying to catch it. He runs back and forth following the moon, jumping and biting at the moon. A bear sits on the edge of the cliff watching the wolf. One night the bear runs after the wolf and beckons him to come and sit beside him on the cliff.

“Watch the moon from here to see its pattern. You cannot catch the moon if you watch it, you will see it is out of reach.”, Bear tells the wolf.

They sat night after night watching the moon. The bear was hopeful that the wolf would understand. After many nights sitting there, the wolf ran off.

“Where are you going?”, asked the bear.

“I have seen where the moon comes down. I am going to that place to catch it when it arrives.”, responded the wolf.

And with that the wolf ran down the incline and out of sight. The bear just sat and shook his head. The wolf had not understood.

The Animal Realm

We learned in the last podcast that the animal realm is the first basement level within the prison of Samsara. This is the realm where all the animals and insects dwell. Whether they are flying in the air, surviving on the surface, even underground or living in the water, all the animals and insects are found in the animal realm. The animal realm is considered one of the lower rebirths. You may be wondering why it is considered a lower realm and pictured below ground especially since there are animals all around us in this life. Surely if we are on the ground level or main floor of the prison and they are here with us, then they cannot be below us.
