Finding Your Spiritual Path

If you are looking for a religion or spiritual practice in life, try to find one that fits you. Many of us were born into families that have religious beliefs that just don't sit right with us and it is okay to walk away from it and explore other options that are more suited to us.

I was raised Christian but had a hard time believing in 'God'. It didn't make sense to me. I went to the library and researched and read about different religions until I found one that matched the beliefs I had already. You see I have always believed in re-incarnation, although I was never taught about it. I brought this imprinting with me from past lives. Eventually, I found Buddhism which aligned with the things I felt and believed already. I was looking for the truth and believe I found it with Buddhism. Not long after, I also discovered Shamanism and this aligned closely with Buddhism for me, so it was a good fit. I consider both of them to be spiritual paths rather than religions.

You need to search until you find what fits for you. I am not asking you to follow what I follow, that is my choice, but you may investigate those paths if you are interested. However, you need to discover where your truth is. One thing I will ask of you is to make sure the path you choose is virtuous. Be sure the spiritual teachings help you to create good karma for yourself and that they do not teach you to hate anyone or to harm anyone in anyway. If for example, a religious leader tells you to hate anyone of a different religion or different race or different lifestyle or different sexual orientation, then leave and find something more virtuous. Hating or harming anyone else only harms you more and causes your spirituality to degenerate. It will have the opposite effect of what you want. Please don't do that to yourself.

You need to use caution that the path you choose is not a fake spiritual or religious ideation. We live in degenerate times and sadly the most popular spiritual ideas are falsehoods. Anything that feeds your ego or promises to make all your desires become reality are harmful to you in the long run and will not help you ascend at all. These things strengthen your self grasping, which weakens your ability to make spiritual progress. Please be careful.

Don't be afraid to explore new spirituality, so that you can find the one that best suits you. If the day arrives that you feel you have learned all you can from your chosen path and want to find a new path later on, go ahead. You do not have to commit to only one path for your entire life. If you are growing spiritually, you need to find sources of teachings that can help you to continue to ascend. Please don't stagnate or plateau but keep striving for spiritual perfection until you achieve it. I wish you the best of luck in your search.
